Soo my outside cat holly got hit by a car and passed away my mom had 15 kittens and out of the 15 my daughter picked this one out very small and skinny we got him yesterday he was acting wierd just laying around so i made this bed thing on my head board i put him on it this morning i found him in the litter box he had passed away over night i am very sad and unsure what to tell my 2 year old when she gets up and demands her kitty!

Sorry. If he was very skinny, he had to be ill and not eating when you got him.

yes i think he was sick when we got him I actuaalt thought twice about getting him but my little girl was persistant every time we went there that it was that one she wanted....guess can't save them all

So sorry to hear of the loss. When we had a family member that passed away when my daughter was very young we just told her how it was. I explained death and the fact that they wouldn't be around anymore. Hard to do but necessary I think.

Thanks everyone we decided to tell her it ran back to its mommy she is only 2 and really doesn't understand death we pulled my almost 7 year old of to the side and told him the truth he started balling he thought we said his sister died so when he found out he misunderstood and it was the kitten he took it alot better poor guy....

You did a good thing...sorry about the kitten...could be the youngest one in the litter...youngest pup or kitten in a litter most of the time is weak and less resistant to diseases

I dont know if you should tell the youngest. But what do I know? I dsont have any kids.
