I just saw the strangest thing -- at least I have never seen this before -- my pleco actually chased one of my other fish!! He did it several times. I had just fed them and he always comes out to munch on what they let drop -- one of my yellow labs went after something near him and he went right after him several times. Is that normal for a pleco?? Like I said I have never seen that with a pleco.

Depends on the pleco and depends on the tank size.

He is a common pleco in a 55 gallon with 6 med. size africans
Maybe he does this and I have never seen him -- today I happen to sit in my fish chair after feeding and watched them for several minutes.

I've seen my bristlenose "defend" their food by chasing other fish away.

Ever saw a pleco try to catch pellets as they fall? hilarious

I've heard of many a common pleco chasing other fish, in fact, I've seen it. Plecos are not as docile as some may think, they will defend themselves very well. In fact, among some of the genre, you can get some nasty territorial disputes, and a good example of this is the Baryancistrus genus, more than one Baryancistrus in a tank and they will likely get a little aggressive with each other.

Mines a wimp he gets chased by a 4" red Zebra when he is 12". My old pleco would fight back but this one wont. Varies on the fish I guess.

That video was awesome, I have a pleco in my tank, but it has NEVER moved that fast or seemed that aggresive!
He has never shown any signs of aggression to my bass!

I have seen many grumpy pleco's in my time... some more than others of course... worst thing is when they get a taste for the slimecoat on the other fish in the tank
