Mine are lone wolves. I think since they were separated from mom and dad and just now replaced in the tank with them, they don't surround either set of firemouths. I don't think they know which parents are theirs.
I talked with Andrea yesterday about stocking levels for 75 gallon and she mentioned around 7-8 firemouths. She didn't mention anything about 300 and what will I do if all these babies remain unclaimed by mother nature.
(I scrapped more eggs off the glass yesterday)

What kind of cichlids are those in the pics?

I love the flare of the fish in the first pic. I am going to be setting up my 55g in the near future for my new severum.... Do you think severum and firemouths would get along?
06-19-2008, 02:45 PM
They are supposed to. Severums get much larger with firemouths remaining 5-6 inches. My firemouths don't like my featherfins or loaches and HATE my blood parrots. They do tend to only flare and strut their stuff with their own kind and leave others alone.
