Okay since I have decided to show this as I progress I figured I would put it all in one thread.....

Here was the first post under the title "So my Wife Said...."

So my wife kabashed my dream of what I really wanted to do for this 18 gallon tank by saying you are not spending another dime right now on fish stuff. I thank she really thought it would discourage me from putting up another tank for a while.

So I had to get creative and look at what I have.

Empty un cracked tank check
Powerhead check
Thermo check
Heater check
CO2 reactor nope
Filter Nope
cool looking tank background nope
A lot of foam and dental plaster check...

A desire to show the wife that I can still build it... Priceless.

Still a work in progress......

As you can see right now it looks like a big mess of pink foam and other stuff. So over the next few weeks to months you will watch this progress from an empty tank into a work of art ... I hope.:hmm3grin2orange:

Look at the front tank picture and you will see where this goes on the left side. This is the first sculpted piece of the background....

I present the CO2 and Heater Tree....:19:

Ahhh yes... the wife. We love her, but sometimes she is the bane of the Aquarist Husband. Way to go man! Sometimes we have to get a little creative to keep our hobby alive. I look forward to seeing your progress...

KEEP FOCUSED MAN! looks great so far can't wait to see it finished.. What are you thinking of doing for a filter? You could do a sponge filter with the power head.

Just had to put the 18 gallon up as an emergency fry tank....

Oh wait nope..... just got an e-mail I have to go pick up 3 5 gallon tanks tonight. Man I love it when a plan comes together, so that will put the 18 back on the workbench.

Well, all I can say as I'd be anxious to see how a ketchup bottle can become a filter. :)
