I picked this Gold Severum up about a year ago from a fish store and it was nearly dead (at the surface of the water gasping for air)...feeling bad for it...i purchased it.

Now after having him for a year, he is doing great and looks awesome! Definitely one of my favorite fish now! :19:

He's beautiful. I want one soooo bad. His tail is getting a bit ratty. Who's chewing on it? LOL

His tail now is perfect...every once in a while the little jewel cichlid in the tank feels bigger than he is and will nip a little, but it's no big deal. They all get along 99% of the time.

he's gourgeous, same story as my severum. mine was in a 40g with at least 30 blood parrots, and from the water he had bad HITH

He was about 2" when i got him and i would say he is roughly 7-8 inches now...he's larger than my hand..

It makes the fish seem even more special, knowing it would probably have died without you...then to see them look so stunning! It's one of the best parts of the hobby!
