Can anyone ID this Pleco. TY. Sorry for the crappy pic.

He is only about 1 inch long and has circles down his back and semicircle side fins.

From what I can see in the picture he looks like a chinese algae eater (CAE) but I could be wrong. I can't really see the markings very well.

Yeah Megan you are right.. it is a CAE and when they get bigger they start to eat meat and harass fish.

I really dont think thats a cae folks,but it is hard to tell with that pic.He doesnt look anything like mine.

To me it just looks to small, skinny and not the right shape to be a type of pleco.

Oh,no dont get me wrong.I dont think its a plec either.Ive been searching around ever since I saw it trying to peg an ID.

Cool looking indeed.....just can't ID him beyond a type of CAE, hopefully someone else can either confirm or come up with something better. lol

I got him on Saturday. The LFS had his advertised as a clown pleco which I know he is not. I am just curious as to what he really is.

I'm leaning toward something in the whiptail pleco range the butterfly like fins and long skinny tail.....

It's Rineloricaria hasemani. Most common whiptail in the hobby. Great fish, though.
