Drip Loop

I was thinking about adding some plants to my African Cichlid tank but am unsure what plants are compatable with their hard water. My cichlids usually have a KH of around 10, GH usually the same, with a PH of 8.6-8.8. I know there are plants which can tolerate this water, but I am more interested in plants that can thrive in this water. Thanks for the help !

might be alright, just feed lots of veggie filled foods, i had a 29g african tank about a year ago, and i had plenty of live plants and because i fed lots of veggie foods they left them alone
mmk, so is sea veggies food a good brand to buy for fw

cichlids also like to dig and move things around!! I keep only silk plants and they still somehow manage to "uproot" them as well just by moving things around. Funny housekeepers these guys are!!:hmm3grin2orange:
lol, yeah, they liek to redecorate

Java fern will be ok and if it's tied to a piece of drift wood it looks great and they can't move it around the tank.

I really wanted live plants in my cichlid tank, but I was hesitant after being warned about cichlids eating and up-rooting plants. Mine even up-root the fake plants that I have, and I go through a lot of trouble to get those things burried good...
If you go for it, let us know how it works out.
