can black moores and comets be put in the same tank?
i read that faster fish will eat all the food before the slower ones do, so they will starve.
ive never raised black moores before, so i dont know how fast or slow they are.
i assume that comets are faster but by how much, and would this speed difference cause the moores to starve?
also, my fish dont eat all the food at once, i drop in 3 sticks, and they go at them, and then leave broken bits at the top a few seconds later, pieces also fall to the bottom

what size tank?
I have a large commet, and a large oranda that have lived together for over a year, and they both get their fill.

what size tank?
small, about 8 or 10 gallons. the biggest fish in there now is about 1.5 inches
and the moore i plan on buying will be around that size too

In a 100 gal tank the 2 can coexist just fine.I have a moor in a pond with comets and koi,he competes just fine. However, that 10 gal tank isnt suitable for either or for any goldfish for that matter.

they could even work in a 55 if you feed right....

yes they could. If one could resist the urge to have no more then 3-5 of that species.Comets get big, especially sarassa.I have a few that are almost 10".

im going to get a larger tank, i know that the tank i too small now, i figured that the 3 in there might be pushing the limit, but didnt know how much.
how much bigger do they get before i need to buy a bigger tank?

The thing with goldies is this. They produce much more waste then comparitable sized fish of other species. You really are overstocked right now.A 10 gal is no place for any goldy unless its just one and it is under 2".

They can last just long enough to get the bigger tank setup. Read the Goldfish article I wrote in the goldfish forum, it is a sticky. It should help you a lot.

the reason for a bigger tank is a stresed gold fish is prone to diseases very soon...plus in such a small tank possibilities of ammonia poisoning is very high...it would be best if you did frequent water changes and buy a bigger tank at the earliest
