I've had my dollars for a couple years with never any signs of spawning. Last week they took off and it's been every night and every morning for them. They have the worse conditions right now they've ever had. Crowded in a tank with my blood parrots, high nitrates in the tank......and they're loving it.

Maybe I should let them have some fry. The dollars you see at the stores are always raggy and ick riddled.

It's nuts around here. These guys are growing up and with all I had, the only ones that didn't make it were the ones I squished with the net moving them from one tank to the next.

Not a chance! I now run to the tank each morning to see if I have more eggs to get rid of. :18:

Wow they are growing fast... you must be spoiling them :19: :19:

Were the Silver Dollars with the Firemouths during spawning? It has been proven that a bit of fish action in the tank get's others going into breeding as well :1luvu:

There was a case study where they played video's of fish mating to a tank of fish and a tank of the same fish where no video's were played - the tank that got the mating show daily got breeding really quick and the others didn't :hmm3grin2orange:

Are you saying that fish like to show off and make the others jealous? :)

They are in a tank with my blood parrots, featherfins and giant danio's. Toooo many of them.

I still love how cute they look. I want to get a pair but don't know where to put them. The 55 will have all my apistos.
