super hard to get a picture with my camera of it so you'll have to work off this.
Kinda reminded me of some saltwater coral or something. attached to one spot but has a lot of super tiny hair/strains growing out of it.

If that is black brush algae do not let it take hold.It is the worse algae you can get, very difficult to erradicate. My tank looked like this in a matter of a month because I liked the look of it at first.Check out the stuff on the wood ,plumbing and the sword leaf.

lol i wouldn't expect anything less from my tank. If it gets even close to a problem it's going to be the final straw for me to tear down the tank and rebuild.

Punisher,
Just use a pair of tweezers or similar and yank that sucker out. You'll probably have to shave off some of your wood to get the whole bit, but nipping it in the bud is a way to prevent a plague of the stuff.
You want to get the whole thing in one go, thus slicing it off the base. Any bit that gets away can turn into another outcrop, so do you best to get all of it at once.

Lights already went out for the night but first thing tomorrow i'll tackle it.

Today was the first time in 2 weeks that i did my 50% water change and was the first time that i actually waited 2 weeks instead of the usual 1. I'm going to go back to the 1week just to make sure that wasn't the cause of this.

You should DEFINITELY shave your wood, bro!

Okay. Just did a thoural cleaning and brushing of my wood. It's not like it's that big or anything.....

found 3 bigger polyp(thats what i assume they are) like the one i pictures and shaved those areas. Continued to brush the wood since i wouldn't see most of the back or bottom areas due to it's size. Collected about 4-6 smaller polyp that were floating in the water when i was done.
