Hi, everybody!
Finally I cycled my Eclipse 6G. I bought 5 Black Phantom Tetras today, but instead of schooling they started, at least what I thought it was, being territorial. Maybe, they'll get used to each other and will school eventually. But so far, one fish, with "nicest-looking" fins out of them all, is trying to kick everybody else's a$$.
Anyways, today I noticed that beside my 5 tetras and 5 shrimps, on the front wall of my tank there were two white slow-moving dots. With the help of my magnifying glass, I found out that these two are tiny little snail juvs (circled red in second pic). I guess they came with plants. I'm not worried about them multiplying liek crazy, cuz I think shrimps will eat them if they do. These little snails are doing a great job so far in terms of eating algae (a much better one than shrimps, too) - so, I like them.

Anyways, here are some pics, tell me what you think... and anybody here uses "plant food", let me know?

wow those are some cool lookin fish! When i think of a tetra I think of the little blue and red guys! Very very NICE!
I love snails!!! I have a trapdoor snail who is very happy sludging around eating up stuff. He I think has been the main reason for my brown algae almost gone!!!
Hugs

Thx. I like snails, too, and they are such hard-working little guys. I can see streaks on my front wall through algae.

Nice tank.

As they grow, keep an eye on your water parameters, 5 black phantoms might be a bit too much for a 6g. The live plants will help and if you have good filtration and a regular water change schedule, you should be fine. Just a little heads up.

As for the snails, I doubt the shrimp will do much. The tetras are more likely to pick off the babies or eat egg masses.
