I have this thick green algae growth on my gravel, glass and plants. I try to vacuum it out and scrape ot off the plants one a week. But it grows right back and really looks awful. I am not near direct sunlight and the light runs about 10 hours a day at this point. What solutions are there for this sort of thing? I'd really like to steer clear of chemical additives but I'll consider them. Please help!

Tank:
65g
Live plants (crypts, water sprite)
Freshwater lightly stocked.

Maybe you could get an Otto cat? They eat primarily algae.

Wel from what I can make out on the net I have cyanobacteria growth. I was wondering why my pleccos didn't clean it up. But the information I've found states that algae eaters won't eat it so that makes sense I guess. Only thing is I haven't been able to find much else in the way of remedy. I have seen a few times that water high in phosphates encourages growth so I'll be looking into that sometime this weekend.
