I found there is a firefox addon that lets you use the IE engine within firefox.
It's called IE Tab ([Only Registered Users Can See Links.]).
You can list sites you want to browse using the IE engine, or click the firefox icon in the bottom right of your browser's window to toggle in and out of IE.
Using it I am able to use firefox to watch movies on netflix instant-watch and use a couple of sites related to my work that are only compatible with IE.
