View Full Version : Put your points in the bank !!!!

If you put your points in the bank... no one can steal them there. Someone (no name mentioned) is trying to scarf up points not earned.
Go to User CP, edit shop options and enter bank . Your points will be safe there.

Did that again just last night.....but I bought a ribbon for Ian first, the little boy with brain cancer in our community that our riders club has adopted.

I admit to "stealing" 100 points, but I can't remember from who. I wanted to try out all the points things, an I honestly didn't think it would let me do it. I will gladly return them.

LOL You are too funny and I love your honesty. I stole points from someone once myself. A member that is no longer posting here and hadn't for some time.
This was just a warning to keep your points in the bank and no one can do that.

I tried to steal points from Hobbs but it failed and I think I ended up giving you like 40 points. Every time i try it fails. OH well

this "stealing points from each other" thing is dumb. the feature should be deleted! just my opinion. all it does is cause people to fight who otherwise wouldn't fight, thus, creating problems.-- not a good thing!

Thank you Hobbs. I am sure at the meeting this week we will come up with something for him for Christmas...although a group of bikes roaring up the drive to deliver it ain't gonna happen in this weather! When we took his bday present I took my 11 year old daughter on my bike with me to get her involved and to show her there is always someone much worse off than you being grounded for running up $18 worth of 3 way calling charges after being told not to do it!!!!

My hat of to you and your club for all you are doing for that boy, My motherinlaw died from liver and bowel cancer in 1999 after finding out only 6 weeks prior that she had it, my father died in 2004 from lung cancer combined with emphosemia after just 1 week of finding out he had it, it is a very sad thing to watch. We have what they call shave for a cure here in aus, where you shave to raise money for leukemia, I have shaved of my 10 inch beard, twice before for this cause, and it is pretty close to getting another fund raising shave.
Wouldnt it be great to find a fish shop in your area to look at this site, and donate a monetary amount to cancer research for each member who has purchased a ribbon, I am posting like mad at the moment to purchase my 1st

My father is battling lung cancer currently...diagnosed Nov 04. He has small cell, which is not curable....it has mestastized to his brain and the chemo therapy killed his kidneys so he is on dialysis 3 days a week. He is doing okay, but his heart is also getting weak and we know we are on limited time. Knowing what I have been thru with my father I cannot begin to imagine what it is like for a parent to be going thru this.
We received an update on Ian last night for our meeting. The current round of treatments is not doing anything for him any longer so he has been moved to palliative care status. That means that whatever it takes to keep him comfortable and pain free is all that will happen from here on out. As is typical of a child, his concern was mainly that he would not be able to see his favorite doctor at the hospital they were taking him to in Michigan! We have not yet been told how much time is left but we are guessing not much. So sad.
Thank you Hobbs for your ribbon!

Both mine and my wifes prayers are with you with both your dad and Ian, all I can say is be strong for both of them. This is a cruel situation for all.

What a shock to lose your father so soon after learning of his cancer. Finding out you have 6 months left is bad enough but gives a little time to prepare yourself. Having one week gives no time at all.
I lost my mother and brother both last year just before christmas just days apart. That only leaves me and my brother (who I never see) as the only remaining members of a very large family.
But what really bothered me mostly was losing friends that I had been very close to. All of them have died! I had 8 very close friends that I talked with weekly, emailed daily, returned from FL to visit, etc. 6 were lost to lung cancer and 2 of sudden heart attacks in their early 50's. Two of them I cared for until they died and another I found when I broke into her house and found her sitting at her kitchen table, holding the newspaper (from 2 days ago) and a cup of coffee. Just sitting there....dead as heck.
It's very odd to go thru life with no friends after having had so many and such good ones for many years. It makes me not want any more and I don't other than one older lady that lives in my apartment complex. Yes. You guessed it........she has cancer!

Yes it was a shock, we never told him, did not have the heart.
My mother also died from a heart attack in her 50's back in 1990, and my brother from a drug overdose in 2000, he was 40, a lot of my freinds from my late teens early twenties have also died from various causes, and letting go is very hard. I can not imagine what it was like for you to find one of your freinds in the way you said.
As far as saying you no longer have friends, from the short time I have been on here I can see you have lots, you are a very popular member, and should not punish yourself by thinking that way, instead, think of the joy and companionship you brought to the freinds you have lost, you help a lot of people on here in a lot of ways. Obviously your caring nature is a big part of you, and that is one of the greatest assets anyone could wish for.

You are funny. I don't care if people have stolen 2 million points here. This was just a note to let them know if they bank them, they won't lose them. This is not a confessional. :) :) :)

I consider myself like Robin Hood when I am stealing from the nefarious, wealthy, Duchess Hobbs and distributing the plunder to poor individuals like myself.
In all seriousness though, I invite anyone to steal money from me lol. It only works like 1 out of 10 tries and if you fail, the person you are stealing it from gets that amount from you.

Thats not an invitation to try either LOL

Ouch... I just did my first 3 way call the other day, it's really wierd, cause you're so used to talking to only one person an then all of the sudden another person chimes in.

Personally, I wish the stealing feature here would just disappear. I think it could cause a lot of problems actually. Some poor guy that finally got a few points and then loose them to a thief would not make for a lasting friendship, I doubt. You can tell who tried to steal, you know, whether they were successful or not.
I also don't think messing with someones user name and aviator should be allowed (chrona!) but that's just me. Probably worries me more regarding the contests but as mentioned that's just my own hang-up.

Yea, im not a huge fan of the whole stealing thing either. It is relatively easy to get points and i know i would be kind of mad if someone stole a significant amount of points from me!

I'm sure there's a set limit on just how much a person can take from another. I doubt they can get all that much but I don't know for sure. I get a kick out of "buying posts counts". It cost you 1000 points to get 50 added posts.
Jeff, you and I have always agreed on this option from the beginning. If they stole from people who haven't been here for two years is one thing but to steal from regulars is what bothers me. I know it's supposed to be a "fun" feature but something about it brings up moral issues for me. Thank Heavens it's not real money. People would get murdered. LOL I doubt that feature is used much but I would be happy to see it gone altogether, as you would.

hobbs- i agree with you completely. Stealing from someone who has been inactive for over a year is one thing, but from a regular member who earns their points everyday shouldnt be allowed. Like you said.. it should probably just be done away with completely.

I'll admit to stealing, but only to mess around with the likes of Drummachine and it's usually only for like 5 points or so (And I've probably given him 10x more through doing it than I've actually gotten back ;) ). Imo if you know the person and he/she knows you, and you both are just joking around it's fine, but if you are actually stealing points to....well....steal them from another member who wouldn't appreciate it, then it's a bit wrong.

I'm gonna have to agree with jeff and Lady hobbs. The stealing feature should just be removed.
