I have some N. mulitfasciatus. I do not believe they are fully mature - inch long at most. However, I cannot get their food right. I was feeding them frozen Mysis...they spit it out. I was grinding up NLS cichlid formula...they spit it out. Tetra cichlid flakes...they'll eat the red ones sometimes but most of the time they spit the red and gray out. What can I feed these little buggers that they'll take. Will those little black/micro worms work? The only thing there doing well is excavating substrate. They are terrific aquascapers.

I sort of had this problem when I had my male cacatuoides. He would not touch prepared foods. I jusrt kept feeding the food, dropping it in everyday until he chwed and swallowed it. This took like 3 weeks, but it was worth it.

Mine aren't picky, they'll eat anything I throw into the tank. Mainly HBH flakes or NLS pellets, occaisonally frozen bloodworms or brine shrimp.

You can just try giving them flake. Eventually they'll eat it. You can't let the fish train you.
