pelco died =[

i just got a pleco a couple of days ago and he ended up dead today...im not sure of the cause so i came here before i go get a new one. he was fine in the morning and when i got back form work he was in the corner and most of his body was white......it wasnt a slime tho it was his skin(scales) that were white

it was a common pleco found in petsmart....i dont know name....

what size is your tank? next time, unless i am totally wronng and you have a huge tank, i would try a rubberlip or bristlenose pleco. or clown.

i have a 55g and he is with a few tank mates....all are in my sig...my water quality seems fine...i just tested it...the other fish seem not to be affected so im wondering if soming my be in the water that poisened him and is non toxic to the other fish

Sorry mate, i had that happen befor to!, it tern out to be starvation! Since then i always make sure i look at the belly to see if its normal and not sunken befor i leave the lfs pet store etc

I don't know what killed your pleco, but the common plecos get BIG. I think I would consider getting a smaller pleco for a 55 gal.

I agree. Pleco's are also not for new tanks. They can easily starve to death if not fed properly and don't have an established tank with a lot of "goodies" in there for him.
