Finally, Marineland has decided to put something on the market besides the magnum, it's about time. It is supposed to be pretty good. According to the Tera/Marineland rep, the new C-series (I guess that's what they are calling it) has about 10% bypass whereas other canisters have something like 40-60% bypass. I was not at the store when the rep came by, but the employee that was told me thats what he said. He also said that the bypass is reduced because the trays themselves seal together with O-rings, forcing the water through all the chambers. This means that the output will be noticably reduced when the filter becomes clogged with debris, letting you know you need to stop sitting there staring out your tank and clean its filter. I have not seen it actually available yet, and have asked on other forums if anyone has one with no positive responses, just one doubting its existance because it's not on their site yet. I have also seen it in and ad in a pet retailer magazine. So keep an eye out for it and if you find it anywhere, please let me/us know.

Interesting....I love my magnums but any improvement on them will be considered for our next (and final) large tank. Really hoping to have a group of 4-6 clown loaches max out for us for a HUGE tank on the one wall left in this house!

I don't think it's an improvement on the magnums at all, more like a whole new design.

Will keep my eyes open to see if anyone comes across on other forums with complaints or compliments and pass it along.
