I wouldn't bother stopping at all. An hour and a half in a decent sized bucket won't hurt them. Stopping to plug in and run an air pump is just gonna delay things and cause more stress. I am about 45 mins from the closest LFS and often have fish in a bag for even a couple hours when necessary.

If you are going to have access to the bucket during the trip, you can just take an empty cup with you and scoop a cup of water out and pour it back in every 5 or 10 minutes. This will help with the surface agitation and help add O2 to the water. It works for me while I am transporting buckets of minnows for fishing. They also sell battery powered aerators in the fishing section of most sporting goods stores that would help.

yep, it would be best to just do the whole thing for a hour and a half instead of taking rest stops, with rest stops you would have to add 45min-hour meaning more stress
