So far I have roughly 15lbs of LR in my tank and 5 lbs of lava rock. As far as corals go I have pulsing Xenia, Kenya Tree, Spiny Orange Sea Rod, 4 Ricordea, 1 Colimorph, 1 cup coral, and about 15-20 superman mushrooms. I am about done with corals although I plant to trade some of the mushrooms for some more ricordea soon. As far as inverts go I have 1 Astrea snail and did have 5 cerith until my hermits killed them. I have 5 blue legged hermits but I am giving them to my grandma and getting 3 orange clawed hermits and also getting 3 more Astrea and 2 Nerith snails. I am fixing to get into the interesting inverts. I have been weighing the fact between either a red mithrix crab or 2 porcelain crab but don't know what to get, what do you thing? Next is the controversy between either several sexy shrimp or getting one skunk cleaner. After that is there any other inverts I should consider? Now as far as fish go (going to be last thing) I was thinking of getting a breeding pair of Rusty gobys (very small, often used in pico reefs) and a small clown. What do ya'll suggest as far as the last couple of questions? By the way, this is 10g nano reef.

why are you using lava rock? its very acidic, and your PH could swing dangerously low, especially since you have a nano

It's fake lava rock and my pH is fine, I test it every day.

For fish I would say do EITHER one clown or the gobys. Thats just my opinion. (IME Some clowns get very territorial and might harrass the gobys in such a small tank.) As for inverts, you might consider a Fire Shrimp. I have two of them in my 90 gal reef and they are very colorful. Maybe a little more shy than a skunk cleaner, but still very cool. Otherwise I would say the Skunk Cleaner over the Sexy Shrimp. Again, just my opinion.

Well the rusty gobys would breen in my aquarium but never come out often as they hide. The clown would be entertaining but it's only one fish. Maybe a royal grama and some small goby?

I like that idea more than the clown and gobys. As long as the goby avoids the grammas "home base" they should be fine together. However, the gramma may hide most of the time, whereas a clown would be visible most of the time. Just somethin to think about...

Wouldn't you want them by themselves if they are breeding?? Wont the clown eat the eggs/fry if he is in there with them?
I would also get some sexy shrimp. I think that they are really cool. Maybe 2-5 sexy shrimp?? About the crabs, I really like the look of the red mithrix crab but isn't that the one you have in your 55g reef?? Again with the breeding though...wont crabs and shrimp and even possibly coral eat the eggs/fry??

Yea but I wouldn't be trying to raise them, just know I had them and also have a natural source of food for the livestock.

OH OK. I gotcha now. Then I don't think it would make a difference if you had the 2 gobies and the clown. The gobies stay small so it should be alright. I would still get some sexy shrimp.
