I have been told this fish is an Melochromis auratus (sp) I think I agree -- but want to be sure!!!
What do you think??

The tail is not right for M. auratus and the lines don't really look right either. Can you get a better picture without the flash on it?

It's not M. auratus. I Love My Gold Barb is right, the tail isn't right for one thing.

ive got a auratus, and like others said the tail doesnt match, maybe a M. Chipokae?

I just went online to check out the M. Chipokae and they have 2 distinct lines whereas mine only has 1. mmmm still not sure - -will keep looking
