Hi, I'm new here and to the world of angelfish. I have a couple of questions about my tank and the possibility of adding angelfish.

My setup is a 50g Hex with:

4 dwarf gourami (2 red, 2 blue)
1 1" pleco
3 red wag sword tail
3 Sunset fire platy

I was just curious if the live plants and angelfish would be a good addition to what I already have....

TIA

The live plants would really be nice. You could probably get away with a pair of angels in there as well, I think they would make a great addition to a hex tank.

There will be problems with getting enough light on your plants due to the depth of hex tanks.Stick with low to med light plants such as swords, crypts, anubias and the like.As for Angels you could have few in there Id say 2 adult size fish max.If you have a place to give them away later you could get a group of 5-6 juvys and see what pairs off,the trouble with that will be aggression while they are pairing [toward each other]then later aggression toward everything else [when they pair off] angels are beautiful ,but a pain.
