Say, you complete your cycling and the nitrogen cycle is working efficiently in your aquarium.
Does this mean , my A.Ni.N levels all be stable for ever..?
Now.. if you had to do a say 50% water change, would you have to start the cycle period again?
If you had to completely empty your tank , i imagine you would have to start again...

The good bacteria responsible for breaking down the ammonia and nitrites in your tank are not in the water, so you can theoretically do a 100% water change without any issues.
Once the tank is cycled, unless it is thrown off by removing too much of the good bacteria (one way would be too clean all the filter media at one time) the ammonia and nitrites should stay at 0, however your nitrates will always rise, which is why you need to do water changes. You can check out the thread I started about water changes in the general aquarium section.

If you are not doing 75% weekly but want to, you need to slowly work your way up to it. Start with just 25%, then 50%, then the full 75%.
