:c3:

I reacently decided to attemt plants, After doing considerable reading through this forum I quickly reolized that its not that easy. I figure I should purchase a book or two but was not able to find any referance in the forum. After looking through the web I was a bit overwelmed with number of books and the range of cost. I am not that concerned with the cost if its good.

Is there a book referance in the forum that I may have missed?

Is there any one that could give us a good review on a given book.

Thanks much in advance.

My book list is here (http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aquariumforum/showthread.php?t=16081&highlight=Book+List). I'd suggest you get the Hiscock book first, followed by the Walstad and the Kasselmann pair. Give you a good education on the ins and outs of planted tanks. If you've questions PM me.

Thank you Dave that is exactly what I was looking for. Don't know why I didn't find it with a search. Looks like I will be doing some reading.

Maybe the list should be made into a sticky (if it isn't already) I just asked the same thing yesterday!

I'm planning on ordering the Hiscock book later today.

I have the hiscock book "Aquarium designs"I was enamored with it at first but as I learned a bit more,I found his info to be a bit flawed,at least in that book. The best info in the smallest package that I have found so far is "Aquarium plants manual" published by Barrons written byScheurmann.Good luck with your plants,it truly is not as complicated as it seems.

Sorry for the slow comback

Thank you all for your replys, I purchased all four of the books Dave recomended. I recieved the Kasselmann pair over the weekend and read them both, very good info, a bit redundent due to some overlap of the info but outstanding. I did have to get out the dictioary to interpet some terms. I am looking forward to reading the next two.

I think the reason I was not able to find your list Dave is, I entered "Planted aquarium books". The list I got was very long and may well of had the thread in it but it was not intuative.
