I'm thinking about getting a couple of keyholes or a female jack dempsey. For getting keholes it depends on what minimum size tank for about 3?,Will they stick together or sparring at each other?,And will they be okay with a midas and a jack dempsey?THANK YOU.Oh and how much they cost each at Petsmart but I'll figure that out myself.

Keyholes are far, far too mild to keep with any Jack Dempsey, male or female. What size is your aquarium? What are the water parameters? With keyholes well planted with driftwood and stones is best. Could keep a group of six in a 55 set-up properly. Larger tetras and corys would be tank mates.
Keyholes are probably the most mellow Cichlids you can buy, but they are very easily bullied by the other Cichlids you listed, to the keyholes' cost.
Only when breeding do keyholes reveal their Cichlid heritage, and in a tank the size of 55 gallons or larger, they aren't bad at all when tankmates have a place to go.

Keyholes will not do well with the midas or jd. They are too aggressive. For 3 keyholes I would think a 30 gallon would be ok, but there may be someone out there that is a little more knowledgable in that area that may have a better suggestion.

Agreed with the above... They are good with peaceful community fish. I would keep either 2 or 4, in case 2 pair up and decide to fend off their territory the aggression would be spread between the remaining 2 rather than just 1 if you have 3. A 30-35g is good for 4.

I have a trio in a 29g tank. They are one of the most docile of the SA cichlids. They don't even tear up plants. Even at breeding time.
