alot of my corals have severely taken over (mainly my cabbage coral, toadstool, pulsing xenia, and zoas), and i have a 10g+stand that ive been waiting for a excuse to setup, and i have various unused reef lights. Im thinking about using 4 PVC pipes as legs, a piece of eggcrate, powerhead, and 65w PC 50/50 as a 10g frag tank, bare bottom, maybe a HOB filter. Would a single clownfish be alright in the tank with no LR? (ive wanted clowns for a while since my oscellaris died and my skunk commited suicide, and i cant trust my lionfish around clowns)

looked through my spare stuff, and i found my 300g rated fluidized bed filter, it runs off of a 20g powerhead, and has a good outflow nozzle, so i figure i can use that as filtration/flow. Tomorrow i should have a chance to get eggcrate, PVC, refill my RO water jugs, and some frag plugs. Basically i just want to cut down the size of my dominating corals, i'll probably give the pulsing xenia for the cost of a coral plug, due to how fast it spreads, and the other corals that are woth a bit like zoas and toadstools for the cost of a plug+time, so just a few bucks. Hopefully i can get trades for the more valuable ones

With the fluidized filter I think a clownfish would be perfectly fine in a tank without liverock.

good to know. I havent used the fluidized bed filter much, i bought it when it was considered new technology, and it was $220 for $70. i used it for a few weeks when i had my oscar and convict in a 40g long, and after i upgraded i used a canister and the fluidized bed filter has sat ever since

Couldn't you just throw in about 5 lbs. of rock below the egg-crate. You have plenty of rock to spare :)
Good luck!
Got word yesterday that my custom frag tank is ready to go! I'll pick it up this week...then I'm just waiting on the lights I ordered - and THEN I'll be rollin' right along!
Not quite sure how I'm setting mine up. As far as I know, egg crate over rubble...
I picked my tank up! Looks great! Now I just have to get around to setting it up...
Still waiting on lights, but I can get the water started...
