I read on a few of the post that some people are keeping snails with there turtles. How is this being done? When I place a snail in the water of the turtle tank it's like ringing the dinner bell. The snail doesn't last more than a few minutes.

my turtles don't seem interested in snails at all. My alli has bit down on a couple when they've wandered into his mouth but never ate one as far as I have seen. The snails shells do look a little worse for wear though

i only keep the little snails in my tank. they dont even seen to notice them. if they do eat them im sure the snails will reproduce quick enough for it not to be a problem.

Different turtles have different preferences. Turtles raised on pellets with other animals and kept full are more likely to tolerate tankmates. But anyone who puts anything with a turtle should assume it will be food and enjoy it if/while it lasts.
