The big and the little

Here's are the two opposite ends of the spectrum at my house. My dane weighs 130#, my shih tu is only the size of the dane's head. :hmm3grin2orange:
The tzu was a rescue. She weighed under 5#'s and was so skinny that every bone in her body was sticking out. Horrible. She was also shaved to the skin...every inch of her...including her tail. OMG she looked horrible and she stunk when I got her.
But as you can see she's got her coat back and a smile on her face. She's a very happy little dog now. Ok, I admit, she is my baby and I love her to death. :l20: LOL
She was diagnosed with renal insufficiency about 3 years ago and has to be on special foods that are very low in protein to help ease the load on her kidneys. The disease will shorten her life span but she's going to have the best I can give her in the time we have together.

Cheeky is a good word for her. She HAS to have the last say. She's very vocal in the sense of using many sounds one of which sounds like a cow mooing! I kid you not :hmm3grin2orange: She's 8 yrs old now and it has not stopped her silliness. Especially when she feels it's time for attention. She will back her butt up to you when you're sitting and plop it right in your lap. Now you have to picture this 130# dog sitting on your lap. Her front feet are on the ground but since she's sitting on your lap it causes her back feet to stick out in front of her (like a kid sitting on a chair that's too tall for him). It's hysterical. She will follow me into the bathroom and do it there! Gives new meaning to the term togetherness, lol!

Aww they're both very nice!

I had a mastiff for a short time as a kid (was a retired breeder so didn't have many years left), I believe she was 130 pounds as well and I was 12 or so, barely 100 pounds. She was quite the lap-dog too. Total chicken too, she was raised exclusively on a farm and the first time I took her for a walk she almost dragged me into the street trying to run away from a killer mailbox! :hmm3grin2orange:

A friend had a dane that was terrified of bags. Paper or plastic, he'd take off running out of the room and wouldn't come back in till the bags were gone. And she had had him since he was a baby. They do have their quirks, lol!

You need some of my border collie's genes then... He actually pushed the bathroom door open one day and jumped on top of my hubby in the tub... Loves the bath!! :hmm3grin2orange:
