Biological Contactor

Has anyone thought of using one of these for a pond filter? I was thinking of making one from scratch but not sure how efficient they are.

It's essentially a big biowheel, like the ones you find on the Marineland filters. Shouldn't be too hard to make, the problem is finding the materials since you essentially have to build it with plastics.
