View Full Version : My red cabomba looks sick.

My red cabomba is getting brittle and mushy on the top parts of the plant and the leafs are falling off what can i do about it.I have 130w over my 60g aquarium.The light is a coralife and it has a light spectrum of 6700k.I fertilize all my fertilizers after i do a water change.The fertilizers include the following iron,pottasium,nitrogen,trace elements.I also have the aquarium plants.com iron substrate fertilizer under the red cabomba.Thanks.:14:

Just over 2wpg isnt really sufficient to have really nice cabomba.Its a difficult plant at best.I had trouble with it when I had 3.2 wpg.It also doesnt like hard water,do you know your GH and PH?

Are you supplementing any Co2 to your plants? Excel? Pressurized? DIY? The more you begin pushing those light watts for your tank, the more your plants will begin needing Co2 supplemenation.

Oh yes,I forgot the co2 thing.I use excel with all my plants.With cabomba co2 of some type is a neccesity.Good call digital.

A red cabomba is going to require insane amount of light to keep it looking good, and with that lighting goes all the rest, ferts and CO2.
