Hi all -- me again!! I am torn between shell dwelling cichlids and keyhole cichlids. Would someone tell me the min. size tank I can keep keyholes in? and how many?
thanks so much!!

I wouldn't go for a minimum size, I'd rather suggest on recommended size tank :)
Keyhole cichlids grew pretty big I think around 10 cm so about 4 inch average adult size, I would suggest not go any lower from 20 gallon per pair. They can live in a 10 gallon, but that's just bare minimum!! I have no experience with shell dwelling cichlids, but i believe they are TINY!!! great for small tanks IMO.
What's gonna be the tank size anyway?

well that is what I am trying to figure out!!! I am trying to figure out whether I want to go with the shell dwellers or the keyhole and then I will decide what size tank I will get! Trying to get as much info as I can on both.
Thanks

Personally I wouldn't go smaller than a 20gal, but I think you could do 2 pairs in a 20.

A pair will do fine in a 20. Keep them with peaceful fish.
