scratched glass

I recently purchased a used 140 gallon fish tank. When I started cleaning it I noticed lots of scratches. I found one @ glasspolish.us that seems to be ok for a DIY project. Has anyone tried these glass repair kits sold on the internet? Is it worth my time and money to try them or should I just go buy a new tank. ty

Hello and welcome aboard to the AC.....I used a automotive headlight polishing kit from Autozone and it took out some of the small scratches from a used 120 gal. tank I bought. It takes awhile and makes it look better, but it wont remove all your scratches, mostly it depends on the depth on the glass.

I think it would be worth your effort to try and fix the scratches as best you can than try to find a purchase a new 140 gallon tank. A 140g tank for me to buy new around me would cost something like $350 for the LFS I frequent.
