do you have a lot of algae? or do you plan on feeding algae wafers?

It'll depend on what you already have in there. Otos don't produce much waste, but you still want to avoid overstoking the tank.

Also keep in mind that otos like to be in groups. 5-6 is generally considered to be ideal if you have otos in a tank. That many should be good to keep algae under control in a 10g tank. But you should still supplement with algae wafers and veggies. If you can't fit 5-6 fish without overloading your tank, otos may not be ideal for your tank.

for cleaning algae you would only need 1 or 2 in a 10g, but since you don't have much algae you are going to have to feed algae wafers. If you can fit a bigger group in your tank thats great. Otos are neat, but they seem to need a good bit of food. If you are just looking to get rid of the little bit of algae you have I would just get a scraper and wipe it off. Also don't leave your light on too much or that will make the algae grow more.
