Ok so I ended up getting a cute little Angelfish. I used to have an Angelfish a long time ago when I was little but don't really remember their requirements. I know they will need a tall tank because they get taller than wide. What would be the best size tank for them? Ok so here's a pic of him/her. Don't know it's sex yet. Also, what kind is it?

It's a black marble angel - going by the finnage it may also turn out to have veiltail fins.

Ideally Angels should be in a 24 high tank - 20 being the absolute minimum. If they grow in a tank too small they may grow some deformities. They are also a groups fish and like to have some friends with a minimum of 13 gallons per angelfish.

Enjoy the new little guy :19:

Thanks guys and thanks Jess for the info! I've got him in a 29 gallon now with 2 Blue Gouramis that will soon be leaving. I think I'm going to start an Angelfish tank now! I'd like to get a bigger tank so I can get some more to go with it. It is so darling and has a lot of personality.

They seem to be pretty peaceful at the moment with the Gouramis. I looked stuff up on then before I actually got him and Gouramis were good tank mates and I was thinking, wow I got lucky! I have my 29 with 2 Blue Gouramis. They don't even mess with the Angelfish which is surprising because they used to at least chase the other fish around. They don't bother the Molly either. Maybe they got an attitude adjustment.
