Hi, I had three (now two) Spanner "T" Barbs along with several other fish in my aquarium, but only the Spanner Barbs are being affected by some type of white growth (that sometimes appear to be thin strands and other times appear to be 3-D) along the edges of deteriorating tails, the sides of their bodies, and right at the starting point of their dorsal fins. I know it's not ich and I have seen pics of things like Columnaris and Saprolegnia but it has never progressed far enough into the disease for me to definitevely tell what it is bc I'm continually changing the water and adding aqu. salt (which clears the fish up for couple of days or so) but it keeps coming back and now I do not notice them eating. I am purposely not overfeeding and all my other water parameters seem to check out fine. From looking at different sites I have gathered that there are basically medications that deal with fungal or bacterial infections, is this right? From the pics I've seen it could be the beginning of either one (Columnaris, bac.) (Saprolegnia, others fung). I was wondering if anyone has any idea of what it is, and/or the best bet for a kind of medication I should use since I can't specifically ID it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much
