So... with our last daughter graduating from high school this month, we couldn't afford the 5ft. tank I wanted for my birthday (she's going on to college and better become a doctor to pay me back for that sacrifice lol).

Anyway, I did manage to get a 10g. setup from Walmart which I will use as a grow out tank/hospital tank/ quarentine etc. and the 5ft. tank will come eventually.

I couldn't find any biospira in my area to cycle the new 10g. so I took some filter media, ornaments, and a couple smaller healthy cichlids out of the 55g. to cycle with. I also used some stuff call Stress Zyme that's suppose to help with biological filtration.

While I was trying to catch a couple fish out of the 55g. I found another tiny baby. Back a couple weeks ago I had found 2 tiny fry and put them in a little 1.5g. tank. I'm sure this new one is from the same batch but it was at the opposite end of the tank from the others. I'm just amazed it made it that far without being gobbled up lol.

As soon as I got it acclimated and put in the 1.5g. it started lip locking with one of the other 2 fry. It was so comical watching fish so very tiny showing that kind of aggression.

The babies are starting to turn a little blue so I now know they are maingano. Well I assume they are...you can never be 100% sure when you have more than one species in the tank if you didn't watch the spawn but that is what they look like. At first there wasn't enough color to tell what they were, only the horizontal line on them to indicate they were either maingano or auratus.

I've got 2 more maingano holding and an albino auratus holding too now so the little 1.5 & new 10g. will come in handy. I even think there might have to be another 10g. and maybe a 20g. coming in the near furture...along with the 5ft. I still want bad lol.

Sorry so long. Just wanted to fill y'all in:19:
