Substrate advice please

Hi,

I am about to set up a new tank 121x51x71cm (440L). I have always used pea gravel before but want to use a sand substrate.

I am thinking Silica sand with a laterite type fertiliser - also thinking about putting in a sub-soil heater? Does anyone who has success with a planted tank have advice here. Not looking at really heavy planting but a good level around the sides and back of the tank.
