I have a pair of Paradise Gourami. My husband and I just noticed them "courting"... they are both almost black in color (i guess this is part of the process) and he is shaking hi bon-bon for her. They keep circling around one another and are sticking close to one another. What happens next and what should I expect? I have no other tanks to move any babies to. my son has a 10g but it's occupied.

This is so neat! I have never witnessed this in fish before. Any advice or help is greatly welcomed.

I just had this happen in my community tank too... I agree, it's beautiful how their spawning works. By looking at when you posted this, I'm guessing they are done spawning. They will embrace and squeeze eggs out numerous times over a couple hours. Now the male will guard the eggs and the fry when they newly hatch. Unfortunatley in a community tank, it's likely that the dad or any of the other fish will eat the fry. I never did see any.
