If you don´t have a gender tag you need to go to the controll panel and edit your profile to contain your gender.

Just out of curiosity. Not there's anything wrong with it the way it is, but is it possible to have it so that it is simply the gender symbol and place it next to the online status indicator?

Would take a little fiddeling but yes it is possible. Anyone else that would prefer it that way?

It's fine the way it is, but you also don't need to actually say 'gender:'...the symbols speak for themselves!
