Hi I am new to this. But would really like to learn heaps about fish. It is really difficult to find information on them. I do have a query..Does anyone know the cause of my blackmoore goldfish having white spots?? Is it breeding or sick. Please help cos I'm worried. None of my other fish have these spots and are all kida fat while this one is tiny.

we're gonna need to know what they look like (a pic would be best) location of the spots, and what tank mates, and tank size he is in. Also if you have a master test kit, what the perameters of the tank he is in are. and what filtration system you have on there. Water Change routines... the works :)

hello and welcome:19:
white spots on a blackmore could be breeding spots or whitespot, picture would be good and will show the spots and it will help people to identify the problem,

Do the spots look like grains of salt stuck onto the Black Moor's body? If so, that's a disease commonly called "ich".
You can read all about ich here:

Welcome to the right place for fish help!
There are ich treatments available for as low as $4. Try using one of those.

sounds alot like ich, you may need to isolate this fish and start treating with an ich solution immediately.

If they are fine salt like white spots covering the body then it is ich. If they look kind of like white pimples that are on the gill plates and pectoral fins only then they are breeding tubercles.

Here's a picture of tubercles.

and here would be ich.

If it is ich look to do a salt treatment from one of the articles above or use a ich medication.

Thanks for example with pics,if its ich then quarentine the fish and add salt(one tablespoon for 5 gal of water) and ich medicine
