[Zushi]

I just bought a paradise gourami for my thirty gallon aquarium, today, but it's lying on the bottom and breathing heavily. I am afraid it's going to die. Is there anything I can do to possibly save it?

It's hard to say whats wrong. Is it a newly cycled tank?

I've had the tank for about seven months now. There are four other gouramis and several other fish.

I could just be that it couldn't handle to move. If the water conditions are different it can send them into a kind of shock. Usually, you quarantine the fish for a week or so before you add them to the tank.

Sounds stressed. It may be ok tomorrow. Turn the lights out and don't feed tonight and you may see a different fish in the morning.
