All black w/white spots sounds like a juvenile Tropheus duboisi. Google that name and see if any of the "images" match.

toddnbecka hit it right on, T. duboisi juveniles are quite recognizable with their solid black body and small white spots.

Is the malawi mbuna the Zebra malawi cichlid?
Mbuna covers a wide range of fish from Lake Malawi, the zebra is one of them. T. duboisi are from Lake Tanganykia.

i just called the store i got the little guy from and the guy said that instead of trading him in, i can bring him back and then get store credit when hes sold lol thats ridiculous!! although the important thing is that he'll be better off somewhere else =)

Store credit when he's sold? How do they keep track of that?? My LFS gives store credit on any fish brought in, of 1/3 of the price they can sell it for.

Store credit when they sell him, that would be the last time I shopped at that store, that is some bullsh*t
