what is the smallest type of pet turtle? how big do they get and how many gallon tank do they need?

36"L x 16"H x 18"W. That's how big mine is, not that large at all. A breeder tank will suffice because you don't need the height.

'Minimum' tank size is highly debatable. With one only hitting 5" long, something only 12" wide is fine. Length could be shorter than expected at only 24-30". These guys don't need much height, so even only 12" tall would be fine. As always more is better. How it is setup can make or break an otherwise great or not so great tank.

spotted turtles(Clemys guttata) stay pretty small too. 3.5 to 5 inches, real nice looking, don't like deep water since they aren't very strong swimmers. they're kinda expensive though.

We have a reeves turtle and he's just about 4 or 5 inches. I dont think he's gonna get any bigger than that.
