Can anyone recommend a good quality filter media that comes in a large size for the tetra hang on filters and such. A filter media that is readily available. I currently have the original filter medias in my 2 month old Top Fin 60, I'm late on my media changes.

I buy polyester filled bed pillows, my friend. Get them on sale for about $2.50 and get enough filling to last months.

Paying $4 for 8 little oz of the stuff is silly.

That is a good trick hobbs.

What media do you need to replace? Not familiar with your filter.

I use that polyfiber in all my filters other than my AC110 that has the sponge.

My filter uses the tetra bags but I think I could fit cartridges in there. Which would be better? I'll look out for media with polyfiber is there anything else too look for in filter media? I want cleaner and clearer water.

I'm not sure what the filter catridges look like... but you could replace it with a sponge of the same size. And eliminate the carbon cartridge idea. Again... I'm not sure without having one in front of me. Sponges are the best bio/mechanical filter combo you can have. Floss/polly is good... but, sponges are great.
