I put carbon in my 2215 canister because the tank was a new setup. It has been in there for 3 - 4 weeks.
If I take the canister apart to remove the carbon will it affect my bacteria?

Nope, as long as you are only taking a short amount of time to take it out, it shouldn't be an issue. There is plenty of bacteria on your other filter media.

OK, thanks. I will get it out today.

Just make sure you take your canister to the sink and dump most of the water out... I tried changing media on the floor by the tank and learned the hard way that you will spill a lot of water. ;)

:hmm3grin2orange: Excellent point - if your canister is not too heavy I would do this. My first media change lead to a LOT of water all over the floor. If your canister filter is too heavy, then try to put it in a large container to hold the water.
