I am considering picking up these two for 15 dollars each,

Very healthy zoas will be full, consistently sized, and practically crowding each other. From my experiece, if you buy frags that are very healthy, they will spread really fast and all of the new growth will appear healthy.

I have one batch of zoas that looked very much like the first picture, and although they have spread, they never achieved the same healthy look as my other zoas. I guess what I am trying to say, is that sometimes a ragedy looking zoa is perfectly healthy, it is just a ragedy looking variety.

The prices on those frags is fine, so they might be worth a gamble. Hopefully your tank conditions will help them to fill out.
