I need a critter that will eat algae/scavenge for leftovers in my cold water tank. Algae isn't as big a concern as uneaten bits of food on the substrate. What would be the best route? A couple of mystery snails maybe?

I'm not sure of a good scavenger for a cold water tank. But feeding less at feeding time would be the cheapest route to eliminate the excess food on the bottom.

Mystery snails won't do well in cold water.

My dojo loaches are great! Cold-water ...clean up after the goldies nicely...

crawdad if the fish aren't too small. trapdoor snails might work too

ghost shrimp can handle some lower temps also, and are great scavengers
