View Full Version : Pet peeves
Sorry to post so many threads, just talkitive today, well actually typeative
mine would be,
Hand movements, sorry as I know alot of people talk with there hands (not sign language) such as, one time I was sitting at a restuant and my mom and aunt were talking, my aunt was talking about watering her garden and she kept making these patting movements like she was planting flowers in the middle of the air and watering em lol, I dunno, if you take time to look at someone look at there hands, its like T.V. so entertaining.
The second one is trying to impersinate soemones voice, its just I dunno it bothers me, especially when people do mine, I swear when they do it either sounds nothing liek the person, or I dunno lol
Third one, this one I cant stand lol I dont know why, I hate when people are to lazy to go up to the tv and change the channel, instad they look day and night for the clicker lol

this one is relatively new for me, but its SO annoying when im playing mario kart wii on wi-fi, and after you play a track, someone votes to go on that track AGAIN right after you just did the same one
Oh I know Ive played it at a friends and we played the same thing like 5 times

i get so mad when people do that sometimes i'll scream the f word 10 times, worst part is that if you leave the race or shut off the console when it starts it automatically counts you as finishing last place and you lose rep scores, so you have to do the race AGAIN

People who always interrupt when your talking so you can't get a word in edgeways...
Arrogant people...
Unmanerable people who have forgotten so say a simple thank you to little things (holding door open for them etc.) or sorry if they bump into you...
People who ramble on and on and never get to the point.. take 30 minutes to tell you something you could have worded in 3 minutes
and monotone noises like a loud clicking clock, dripping tap etc. - can really drive me insane.
Never move to Italy Bolivian Ram... they all talk with their hands :hmm3grin2orange:

OMG HATE THIS ON COUNTERSTRIKE, but thats why we all have mics, to let them know just exactly how we feel.
Also agree with the interupting, everyone does it sometimes without realizing it, but i hate trying to talk over people. I have a deep voice and i am very well heard, but i shouldnt have to speak over you so you'll shutup for 2 seconds so i can rebut.
Also agree with the general courtesy stuff, i have never failed to open a door for someone near me, unless that person just neglected to do it for someone else, then i make a point by slipping it through as its closing in their face.

You know it drum! The only map i dont mind repeating is fy_iceworld in gungame. Italy is a good original map too.
Costco shoppers...for some reason, the ones in our Costco think they are special. They won't move out of the way for other shoppers. They'll hog an entire big aisle with their carts. They won't MOVE to let you look at something they and their carts are blocking.
Geez, people...yes, you pay a membership fee to shop there...but so do I...and for goodness sake...it's a DISCOUNT store...you're not special if you shop at a DISCOUNT store...no matter how much you pay for the priviledge...
The young woman who works in Stores in my building. The other day I came to work with my hands full of my purse, notes, coffee and my breakfast bagel. A very nice gentleman held the exterior door open for BOTH of us...and told me I didn't have to rush! Nice guy.:1luvu:
She, on the other hand, slipped through the interior security door (we need to flash our pass key at it - requires a free hand) - I thought she would hold it for me too, since she knew I was rght behind her...but she didn't - so the door hit me and my coffee went sloshing all over...the floor...me...my purse...
She also won't give me the time of day - unless her supervisor is with her - then she's all smiley and polite.
Can I slash her tires?

Oh yes...I'm also ticked off at all the people who named their sons 'Ethan'.
I wanted 'real' but unusual names for my kids. This was VERY important to me. So I picked 'Ethan' for the oldest. NO ONE had heard of it. It was low down on the list back in 1990.
Then every one else 'discovered' it. It was the top boy's name for a few years where we live.
LOL...how DARE the masses make my unpopular name popular!

Haha if you ask me there are too many, Ethans, Dillans, Trevors, and a million other names that are like a "fad" these days, for lack of a better word. For my kids i like April if its a girl or some russian girls names are pretty, like Anya and Zhenya, and for boys i love Olaf, but my fiancee wont allow it. LOL So i like Abraham or Abe for short
Edit: Add gunther to that list of over-popular, previously unpopular names.
...it makes me so mad! Every time I hear some other Mom calling her little kid 'Ethan! Come here Ethan!' I want to ask her why she picked such an awful name...
How's that for being mean-spirited?
BTW...I still luv the name...but there are so MANY of them out there...

Exactly, im sure its frustrating that when you named your child you were going for a little originality, or uniqueness, and its like everyone else was like OH I WANNA BE ORIGINAL TOO! , completely defeating the point.

OMG... I so know how you feel... I named my little guy Diego (which is unheard of here in Europe and very uncommon) thinking I was being orginal and before I knew it when he was a year old a stupid kiddie cartoon comes out 'Go Diego Go' and all the stores were filled with Diego stuff... Everytime my little guy says his name now everyone bursts into the TV themesong <sighs>

BIGGEST pet peeve - altezza taillights. I don't care what anyone says - they look cheezy and cheap, unless the car came with them from the factory, then they look "okay"
Also, when people pull up at a red light and don't leave enough room for people to turn right on red... think of all the gas that could be saved from people not having to wait at red lights to turn right!

When I'm playing guitar hero on wi-fi, I'm pretty good so people rarely beat me. Almost always in the middle of a song people will just give up and quit, and nobody will ever stay and do a whole round unless they know for sure they are going to win. It's impossible to ever win anything other than default! And that really makes me mad!
Can I slash her tires?
Hmmmm...well maybe just one of them....two if it's pouring rain. :)
Also, people who think they're so tough and pick fights with everyone. There's this one kid in my one class who thinks he's so tough (but really he's just all fat), and tries to boss everybody around. If you make eye contact "You wanna fight?", if you are eating too loud "I'll punch you in face" if you are talking too much "I beat up 3 kids last night and I'll do it again", if you ever beat him in any sport " I don't care if I get suspended, I need some time off school anyway" ARRGH! Just thinking about that kid drives me crazy. And no matter how much you do fight him, and how often everybody wins, he won't stop. Everybody in the school hates that kid so much, if you ever fight him after school you're a hero for the rest of the week. He's been beat up like everyday for the last month, and he won't stop. Yeah ok, I'll fight you and almost get arrested. But he still doesn't admit defeat! And there are others like him....we must find them and shut them up!
Also, people who don't capitalize their I's, and who talk using "like" or "whatever" numerous times in every sentence. And people that are named Nick. I must have had at least 1 more Nick in all my classes, sometimes 3 or 4 in one class, and it makes things conplicated. I get the worng tests back, the wrong marks, and when they call one of us everybody responds. I guess that would be lower on my list that the others, you get used to it.
People who make fun of handicapped or special needs people, and when I'm at the shooting range talking to some guy, when they're talking to me they feel the need to turn around so they can talk face to face and end up pointing whatever loaded gun they were shooting with at the time right at you. NO! We can make conversation without accidently shooting me. And I never want to tell the guy off, for obvious reasons.
Also, people who don't take advice. People where can't admit they were wrong. People who think fish can be kept in bowls. And people who buy large fish and then just return them and buy more as soon as they outgrow their tank. And people who buy "nemo fish" and "dory fish" without any research at all except what they got from the movie finding nemo. Or for that matter, buying any pet without researching.
I could go on, but chances are you've given up and moved on by now. :hmm3grin2orange:

Fat people who get handicapped parking permits.
Fat people who drive the motorized carts in walmart.
People who will sit in the middle of the main drive at walmart blocking both directions of traffic, in hopes that the person with the closest spot to the store will come out within the next five minutes.
More later on.

LMAO wow thats hilarious but so true lol, all the large people ride the motor carts at the stores lol and then they expect you to treat them like there some kind of king or queen (ive seen mostly women do it)

I just get around that by never being wrong...:hmm3grin2orange:
Makes life MUCH less stressful...
More:
1. Not typing the html in properly...:hmm3grin2orange:
2. Jaywalkers. I have no problem with people taking shortcuts across the road, or elderly/disabiled people taking however much time they need...
BUT the teenager's that do it just because they're 'cool'...or the old ladies who do it just because they think they're special...drive me nuts...
3. Special parking spaces for pregnant women - like handicapped parking.
I had 3 difficult pregnancies...I didn't need special parking. And I never thought I was special just because I was pregnant. Geez...women have been having babies for millions of years...it's not remotely 'special' to anyone outside of immediate family.

I wanted to name my first on Maximus for the longest amount of time. I've always been big into Greek/Roman history. But she hated it, so we ended up with Malcolm Mathias. Every kept asking us why we choose a black name.... HA HA, just because of Malcolm X it's a black name.....I have ancestors named Malcolm.
I actually had a lady came up to tell me a few months ago. "I named my kid Ayden, but I spelt it different from every one else because I didn't know how it was spelt." I laughed and continued not to talk to her.
I've always considered Malcolm to be Scottish!
Always like Malcolm...good choice!
BTW..I think it's funny how Martin Luther King, named himself after Martin Luther (his parent's named him Michael Luther King)...but lots of people have NO idea who Martin Luther was, even if he's (globally speaking) much more 'famous' than Martin Luther King...:laugh1blue:

Mine is when it's kind of warm outside and some one is wearing a hoody or coat and they get asked, "What are you, cold blooded?"
Now, if they were cold blooded they wouldn't need a coat now, would they?
People who say IDEAL! and not idea.
People who ad "s" to stores that don't need it. "I want to go to Hot Topics" or "Game Stops" It's singular...
LOL...I'll get myself in doo-doo if I dare criticize 'word use'...even if the wrong word is being used...(note: I am NOT criticizing spelling! OR grammar!!! Never have! It's word use I will remark on!).
But here I go regardless...:27:
'Spayded'. No such word. You spay a female animal. It is then 'spayed'.
Or people that say 'heighth'. Very common around here. It's just 'height'.
I think it's because we say 'length and width - they figure it must also be 'heighth'...
lol, I spayded my cat when she was a small heighth, lol are you aggravated?
...I'm taking the slushie back...
=o fine then lol I guess that my heighth and cat spayeded didnt help lol
Not to mention I have LOTS of cellist jokes...

Hand movements
I talk with my hands a lot :)
instad they look day and night for the clicker lol
And I say clicker! Good to know somebody else says it too - I always get laughed at.
As for my pet peeves - the main one I have is when people don't use their blinker when they're turning. Or worse - when they turn their blinker on either right before or AS they are turning - arg!
I also don't like drink/soup slurpers or when people crack their gum very quietly when it's important to be listening to what's going on - i.e. in a movie, during church, while people are talking.
And last one that I'll share - disrespect. I don't know if it's just because of how I was raised or what, but it really gets under my skin when people - children and adults alike - are disrespectful. There just isn't any point in it.
Yep - that's about it - or all that I'll share right now. lol I don't get bothered too easily, but the things that do bother me really bother me. lol

another bad one, is when people park in the handicapped spaces, have the sticker for it, but they look absolutely fine, not handicapped at all. drives me nuts
another one is kids who smash car windows for the fun of it, that happens alot around me. they just smash them for the fun of it, im sick of always having to put a stupid Club on my steering wheel so noone jacks it

Adding T's And S to words that dont have it is a dialect thing. People from around my way say "acrost" instead of across, and we also say heigth, but i dont type it that way cause why would you unless you had the education of a 6 year old. Actually, there are alot of 6 years that can type better, and faster than all of us.
As for the kids and car windows...i used to have the same problem. I always stand up for what i believe in, and for the people who are important to me. So i used to get in fights alot, and some people dont know what honor is so they come back when your asleep and mess with your car. Heres a dozen reasons not to mess with my car.

worst one for me was i ran into 5 gang guys jacking a car, i completely ignored them because i would get owned and they still came after me, i got away though. lol
another time, some guy smashed a window in a nice tuner car to steal it, i was close to the guy, but i guess the guys some gang kingpin or something, and right away 5 cop cars came around, scared the absolute crap out of me, the guy put up a fight againt the cops and got absolutely owned by them, cops got some good whacks on him. i got questioned about what i saw but they know i didnt do anything.

Kingpins dont steal cars, they get gang members to steal cars. Probably a bait car. I only have so many weapons because i dont think guns are a good idea for self defence unless its LTL technology, and i dont have the money for an assault shotgun, but they are nice to have if you run into that kind of stuff alot. Load the clip with 3 rounds of buckshot first, then 4-5 beanbags, depending on the manufacturer of the shotgun. When the first guy comes for you, you dont have to make those crazy split second decisions between your life and his.....just pull the trigger 5 times and aim low. Not many people put up fights after they're legs are broken in a bunch of places, and then if he decides he wants to draw his gun, put one in his head. I know that sounds really cruel to some people, but the point is people who are decent like cocoa shouldnt have to run from people in their neighboorhood. Especially for just being in the wrong place, at the wrong time. What if he hadnt gotten away, whose to say what his fate would have been. I always carry knife when im on foot, i always make sure its a speed assisted draw, not a switchblade, and that it is of legal length. But the point is i shouldnt have to. I need a CWP so badly.
In texas its extremely easy to get a CWP, and crime is very very low there. The reason is when some guy pulls out a gun in 7-11 and says, give me all ur money to the guy behind the counter, ten rednecks pull out their guns, "not today boy" and it works, but i wish it didnt work like that.
Sorry for the long post, but this is certainly one of my worst pet peeves, er i guess its more extreme than that....i would call it a quarrel with society i guess.

Is that like a CWP? Or do you need a permit just to own a gun in kansas?
Generally to get a CWP you need to take alot of gun courses, the more the better, or be a cop or ex military. Government worker helps, but if you are a civilian the best way to get accepted is taking alot of gun courses.
Im not totally sure but i think in Kansas you need a permit to carry a handgun, and for CW's. One in the same in some states, but you dont need a permit to carry a rifle or shotgun, and you can buy one when u turn 18. May i suggest a light carbine? Cheap ammo for target practice, but you will still pwn anyone with a 6 shooter in a gunfight like they were clay pigeons.
Bushmastersonline.com has alot of carbines for cheap and stuff like extra clips and special sights are reasonable.

Yea thats what i thought, same thing as a CWP in my state, concealed weapons permit. Unless your state is very lax on gun control, you are gonna have to take some courses to get that license, and you have to be 21 to buy handguns in the US, im thinking about picking up a .45 Colt made, since i just turned, just gotta get the dough and some rubber bullets.
