ed, if it makes you feel any better, the guy said he had a clamp lamp, so he probably had reptiles in it. most tanks used for more than a few months with reptiles would not be safe for fish. the heatlamps, etc would affect the silicone

Also, fish tanks have tempered glass and reptile tanks do not. It could bow on you.

Ed, if it makes you feel any better, I have a drilled 125 sitting on my back deck right now that I need to reseal. I got it off freecycle. The seals were in rough shape but they are completely fixable. It's been sitting there since late December though, I've got all the old silicone removed. Now if I can just get the time to reseal the thing. But, like you, I have no more room in my house for a 6ft tank.
