what to put in with 2 bolivian rams

i have a newly set up 20 gallon heavily planted tank full of south american plants. the only 2 fish in there right now are 2 bolivian rams. they seem to be doing really well and are very playful and entertaining.

i've found conflicting info online about how aggressive these rams are so i'd like to know what other small south american fish i can safely place in the tank with them. i'd like an algae eater, and some other pretty fish.
