View Full Version : Meet Sunshine!
The newest addition to our family. Vet thinks she's about 8-12 months old. A real sweetie. Yet another Humane Society rescue (our 5th now), she has a skin infection that we are clearing up with antibiotics and she needs to gain about 15 pounds but otherwise she's a happy puppy!

A[Only Registered Users Can See Links.] she looks so cuddly!! Just the right size to hug! Our "Bear" (border collie/red heeler) was a pound puppy too. Rescuing is so gratifying and saves a lot of money too!

Such a pretty dog!! Congrats on your new addition GM!
I cannot go into an animal shelter for fear of coming out with as many dogs as I could fit in my car. It is very heart breaking. I can barely go to Petsmart without coming home with something more than fish or dog food. lol On the weekends they have a local no-kill shelter, that bring dogs and cats in for people to see and adopt.
Omg.....and has anyone seen the commercial for the ASPCA & BC SPCA, the one with Sarah McLaughlin and her song "Angel" playing in the background. The first time I saw that I just bawled my eyes out. I have to turn it when it comes on now.
Heres a link if anyones interested--[Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
So hats off to you GM for your wonderful adoptions and to those of you who have also given homeless animals, loving homes. :22:

Magnetic, yes, but I prefer the real thing that I have in the rec room upstairs! My 5 year old isn't quite ready for that though!
EDIT: Thanks for all of the kind words, too, everyone!

Yeh, I found a real one that was made in England in the garage when we moved in. Sometimes Ill go and play a few rounds. The dart board is right in front of some pool chemicals. I can sense trouble brewing already.
Haha! Bounce out and BOOM! Chlorine leak!
Seriously though, it would tank a heck of a hit to puncture the container, I'm sure.

lol, i owned myself with darts once, i threw them all, and when i went to pull them off the board one fell, and the sharp end part fell into my foot into a vein, that would have been a youtube moment if someone filmed it

Agreed GM~congratulations on the adoption. Many shelters are very heartbreaking. Part of the reason is that the big groups do very little for the local shelters that have no choice but to kill animals at a rapid pace. The ASPCA is a radical nutjob group who actually does little and the HSUS is a radical nutjob group that does nothing but dupe people into thinking they are doing good for shelters. They have over 100 million dollars a year budget and have no affiliation with local shelters. Imagine how humane our shelters could be with that kind of money.
No pet owner should ever give a dime to these two groups.
Good luck with the new pup GM and thank you for saving another one. One day soon she'll be smiles and a ball of play!
Our Humane Society is actually a no-kill facility. They will ship unadopted animals, after a few months, to other no-kill facilities to improve their adoption chances though.
We volunteer there and donate all of our miscellaneous "stuff" to them for their annual yard sale. This year we literally have a truck load of stuff for them!

She's beautiful. Saints grow very, very fast and generally need vitamins to keep up with their growth so they don't have weak bones. Hope the vet recommended them.
Nice job in rescuing this beauty.

Thats always good to hear. :o)
Actually in rereading my post I was not clear in wording it very well. To clarify what I wanted to say, Your local Humane Society (shelter) is not the same thing as the HSUS (refered to as nuts by me up above).
